Koufonisia is the ideal destination for those seeking the tranquility and beauty of the Cyclades. They are located on the southeastern side of the Aegean Sea and belong to the complex of the Small Cyclades. The island is known for its pristine beaches, turquoise sea and stunning scenery, making it popular with visitors seeking tranquility, relaxation and an authentic island experience.
Koufonisia is divided into two islands: the Big Koufonissi and the Little Koufonissi, with the first being the main and most developed, while the second is ideal for exploration and escape to secluded beaches.

Beaches in Pano Koufonissi

Pano Koufonissi is famous for its unique beaches with exotic beauty. All of them are located on the eastern side of the island and most of them are not organized and have no natural shade. We suggest, therefore, that you bring the essentials with you. You can reach the beaches either on foot or by boat, which departs daily from the port from 10 am and every 1 hour.

These are some of the most beautiful beaches in Pano Koufonissi:

Sand: even the harbour beach is beautiful in Pano Koufonissi. It has crystal clear turquoise waters and is protected from the northern winds.
Harokopou or Phoenix beach: wonderful sandy beach with turquoise waters. After swimming you can enjoy your meal at the tavern "Phoenix", from which the beach takes its name.
Lantern: sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters. The homonymous café-restaurant offers drinks and food.
Italian: the beach has clear turquoise waters and golden sand reminiscent of tropical shores. You might even meet nudists.
Swimming pool: it is an opening in the rocks, a beautiful natural "pool" with turquoise waters!
Pori: is considered the most beautiful beach of the island. Golden sandy beach and magnificent turquoise waters make up the exotic scenery. It has some natural shade and a taverna.
Milk: a very small, but impressive pebble beach, named after the unique "milky" colour of its waters. It is formed by a passage in the rocks, through which the sea enters. A small miracle of nature!

Where to stay in Koufonisia

In Pano Koufonissi you have several options for accommodation. In Chora, in the port, in Fano, in Pori, and in Harokopou Beach you can find mainly rooms and houses to let, but also small hotels. The island used to have an organized camping, but it is not working anymore.
